STEPHEN S. DUDLEY MD, FACS
Stephen Dudley, MD, FACS, a board certified ophthalmologist, is a graduate of Purdue University where he received a BS degree in physics. Between receiving his MD degree and completing his residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Dudley served as a General Medical Officer in the U.S. Air Force for two years. Dr. Dudley then founded The Eye Clinic of the Fox Valley, a successful ophthalmology practice in Oshkosh. Dr. Dudley is an accomplished cataract surgeon and was the first physician in Wisconsin to utilize the YAG laser for treatment of secondary cataracts. As a visionary and national leader in the field of LASIK laser vision correction, Dr. Dudley performed the first laser vision correction procedure in the state of Wisconsin in 1991. He was the principal investigator of the VISX excimer laser during the FDA approval process and is one of only three certified VISX trainers in the state. Dr. Dudley is a past Visiting Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and a member of the American Medical Association, the Wisconsin Medical Society, the Milwaukee County Ophthalmology Society, the Sports Ophthalmology Association of the Americas, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Dudley and his wife have lived in Oshkosh for over 35 years. He is an accomplished race car driver and races competitively in the US and abroad.
GERALD CLARKE, MD
Gerald Clarke, MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. He graduated first in his class from Loyola University School of Medicine. After completing his residency at Milwaukee’s Eye Institute, he founded Ophthalmic Surgery of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. He is a pioneer in his field. He performed the first Radial Keratotomy in Wisconsin, he is an accomplished LASIK laser vision correction surgeon and he has performed thousands of cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Each spring, Dr. Clarke travels with a surgery team to Honduras and performs cataract surgery at no charge to the underprivileged. Dr. Clarke is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Sports Ophthalmology Association of the Americas, and a member of the American Medical Association and the Wisconsin Medical Society. Dr. Clarke and his wife reside in Appleton. In his spare time, Dr. Clarke enjoys writing and dancing. He is a published science fiction author and has produced a movie based on his book, The Drone Virus.
CHRISTOPHER SMITH, OD
Dr. Smith received his Bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. He is board certified on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease and he has had externships at the Garrett Eye Center, Battle Creek VA and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Smith has worked with thousands of cataract and refractive surgery patients and currently works directly with Dr. Stephen Dudley and Dr. Gerald Clarke at OptiVision Laser Centers in Green Bay and Appleton. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, as well as other societies and also sees patients for simple and complicated contact lens fittings and routine eye examinations.
