OptiVision surgeons, Dr. Gerald Clarke & Dr. Eric Larson, have more experience in every form of laser vision correction, including:
Custom LASIK is a fast and effective form of refractive surgery used to correct farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. This procedure often takes less than 10 minutes for both eyes and is typically painless. By reshaping the cornea, LASIK allows for light to more easily reach the retina which can improve your eyesight. Both NASA and the US Military Warfighter program require the same laser vision correction technology that we use at OptiVision, so you can rest assured that you’ll be getting world class treatment with amazing results.
PRK, or photorefractive keratectomy, is a form of refractive surgery which offers results comparable to LASIK. Used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, PRK is a more suitable procedure for patients with thin corneas or who have previously had LASIK. PRK differs from Custom LASIK by removing the entire outer layer of the cornea, rather than creating a hinged flap. Due to this process, the surgeon has greater access to the underlying corneal tissues for treatment.
PTK, or phototherapeutic keratectomy, is an advanced procedure for treating corneal dystrophies, scars, and infections. Rather than undergoing a full corneal transplant, PTK offers an effective way to repair vision with a significantly shorter downtime – only days, rather than months. Surgeons use an excimer laser to eliminate damaged tissue with precision and control and leave your vision restored and uninhibited by the scarring associated with corneal issues.
